Ms Gladys Hu

Founder, Lead Therapist

Gladys is passionate about restoring and building vitality in the lives of individuals and the relationships between couples and family members. She specializes in working with children and teens, together with their parents/family members to promote better management of behavioural and emotional challenges.

Gladys has close to a decade of experience as a social worker with clinical training, working with individuals and families at the Child Protection Specialist and Family Service Centres, and a counsellor in private practice on issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties, poor self-esteem, and parenting challenges. Gladys also provides training and coaching for social workers and counsellors at the family service centre in working with children.

Modalities:

  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Play-based, Expressive Arts Therapy
  • Attachment-focused Approach
  • Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TFCBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

My philosophy to therapy is that it is a time and space where two human beings, both as fallible, and as subjected to the elements of circumstances, come together and interface in the therapeutic relationship. In this professional relationship, we are equals as in the client brings their expertise on their life and the therapist brings their professional experience and knowledge to support the client in working through their challenges and discovering themselves towards an improved quality of life and sense of meaning and vitality.
